Purpose of Art Paintings

Art Paintings

Create a Good Impression

Background pattern

The purpose of the painting is to create a good impression on those who see it (for example as decoration). The artist may be such as for an assignment or personal interest. Painting is made in order to make money. If this is the case, then we call them works of art and sell them. Some paintings are commissioned by governments, corporations, or private collectors.

Hierarchy of art painting

Text, letter

So there is some sort of hierarchy of art – painting works can be divided into genres (portrait, landscape etc.). There are two major classes: the visual arts (painting) and performing arts (dance, music). Audiovisual arts include films, sculpture , opera, music video, video games and intermedia.

Art of Architecture

In addition, there is a separate art painting of architecture. It aims to provide a functional space for people to live or work. Architectural works can be beautiful in their own right, but never considered fine art. Architecture has always been considered an applied art along with several other disciplines such as sculpture and landscape architecture.

Visual Arts

In most cases, the word Art paintings refer to visual arts, with a notable exception being that music is art. In some other languages (such as Russian and Hindi), the word “art” means painting in particular.

The classical languages of India and Greece had a very well-developed theory on painting, sculpture, architecture, music and literature. They contained no word for art, but they have a very rich vocabulary to describe the arts. They had a word for fine art, namely Sophia. Thus they were able to compose a list of six major artists :

Philosophy of art

Generally speaking, the philosophy of art is the study of beauty and taste ( harmony ) as such. It may be understood as part of aesthetics or as an independent discipline. There are departments of philosophy devoted to the arts at universities around the world; however, these tend to focus on those arts that are commonly practised in the present.

History of Fine arts

Since most of the fine arts were developed during the early periods, when most people had to work with their hands, it is not surprising that they are still very closely related to labour and trade. The same is true for architecture, although this discipline has become much more technologically oriented in recent decades.

However, the arts are not confined to any one domain. For example, music is art, but it can also be used to advertise products; similarly, writing does not necessarily constitute art. Even in the case of literature (which is considered by many people to be an “art”), there are instances where it is clear that certain books or articles are being used to promote a particular point of view, and where the literature is only incidentally considered art.

Similarly, there are instances where writing constitutes art but serves as an advertisement (for example, some graffiti ). In such cases, we need to make a distinction between craft and art: one way of doing this is by using
